🐿️ Exploring the World of Squirrels at Kindergarten Radost 2, Poreč

On Thursday, October 30th, 2025, Conny Petö Đeneš visited Kindergarten Radost 2 in Poreč, where she held an educational workshop about squirrels for six kindergarten groups. The young explorers were eager to discover what life looks like for a squirrel living in the city.

They learned where squirrels build their homes, how they find food, and why trees are so important for their shelter and safety. One question especially sparked their curiosity:
How do baby squirrels eat when they don’t have teeth yet?

The children were full of questions, one after another:
– Where do squirrels sleep in winter?
– How do they hide their nuts?
– Why does their tail look like a fluffy brush?
– Can squirrels be friends with people?

They were delighted to find out that urban squirrels sometimes need our help, especially when there isn’t enough food or safe nesting places — and that people can play an important role in protecting them.

Each kindergarten group received two picture books as a gift:
📖 “Koki and the Lost Walnut”
📖 “Bim, Bum and Bam – Adventures in the City Park”

The children were thrilled to bring home new stories, and they are already looking forward to the next encounter with the little heroes from the park.

A warm thank you to the teachers and children for their wonderful energy, kindness, and care for the animals that share our beautiful town of Poreč with us.
