🐿️ Squirrel Presentation at Kindergarten Radost 1, Poreč

On Friday, October 24th, 2025, a joyful and educational presentation about squirrels was held at Kindergarten Radost 1 in Poreč, prepared for the children by Conny Petö Đeneš, project leader of “Lend a Hand to Nature”, a program focused on the protection and care of squirrels.

The presentation was attended by five kindergarten groups, who listened with great curiosity while learning about different squirrel species, what squirrels eat, and the variety of fur colors that can be seen among the squirrels living in our town of Poreč. The children eagerly participated, asked many questions, and shared their own stories of encounters with these curious forest creatures.

Afterward, Conny read them the picture book “Koki and the Lost Walnut”, and each group received four picture books as a gift – two copies of each title:
📖 “Koki and the Lost Walnut”
📖 “Bim, Bum and Bam – Adventures in the City Park”

For this special occasion, the kindergarten also prepared a beautiful exhibition of children’s drawings of squirrels, created by the young artists themselves.

We were especially happy to recall that the children from this kindergarten had already participated last spring in painting squirrel houses, which were later installed as part of the “Lend a Hand to Nature” project, with the support of the City of Poreč and Valamar Riviera d.d.
Within the project, squirrel feeders, water stations, and nesting boxes are regularly placed in various locations around the city to help the squirrels survive more easily and to promote their protection.

A big thank you to the teachers and the kindergarten principal for their warm welcome and wonderful organization, and to the children for their genuine interest, laughter, and love for nature.

🐿️❤️ Together we learn, protect, and love squirrels!
